How I wish there had been a chess in schools program in my area when I was in school. With all the information available now about the benefits to kids in learning how to play chess and participating in club play and tournaments, it amazes me that many school systems have no programs in place. Hmmm, I don’t even know if my local school system has a program in place. Time to do some research –
