Could Trump Tower be the World Championship venue?

Donald Trump, Magnus Carlsen, NY City, Sergey Karjakin, Trump Tower, World Championship

      Trump Tower NYC

MOSCOW, May 23 /TASS/. The International Chess Federation (FIDE) considers the NYC Mayor’s Office and Trump Tower to be the most likely venues for a match for the world chess title between Norwegian Magnus Carlsen and Russian chess player Sergey Karyakin, FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov told TASS.

“At present, we are looking for a venue. We have a list of possible places, including the NYC Mayor’s Office. We have sent a letter to billionaire Donald Trump with a request to allow holding the match in Trump Tower.

Ilyumzhinov said it would not be a problem for him to visit the United States.

A match for the world chess crown is to take place in New York on September 9-30 this year.
