Cubans are at Prominent Places in World Chess Ranking

Havana, Cuba , Feb 2.- Another record of the Norwegian Magnus Carlsen is the most relevant news of the world chess rankings updated today, in which Cubans Leinier Dominguez and Lazaro Bruzón are still over the 2700 Elo points.
The Nordic genius maintained the top of the list with 2 872 units, 11 more than those exhibited last month, when he ended the reign of Russian Garry Kasparov, dating from 1999.
Talking about Cubans , Leinier did not vary his score ( 2723 points), but rose from 25th to 24th spot, to establish himself as leader of Latin America and third in the continent, behind the Americans Hikaru Nakamura (9th with 2767) and Gata Kamsky (18th with 2740).
Bruzón added six points to his score, and reached the 2707 units for placing on the seat 38th, which exceeds in 10 spots his position in January´s ranking.
The “top ten” of the world had little changes since again, Russian Vladimir Kranmik (2810) and Armenian Levon Aronian ( 2807) are Carlsen’s escorts to form a privileged trio over 2800 Elo points.
Azeri Teimour Radjabov (2793), Russia’s Sergey Karjakin (2786), Indian Viswanathan Anand (2780), Bulgarian Veselin Topalov ( 2771), Nakamura, Azeri Shakhriyar Mamedyarov (2766) and Russian Alexander Grischuk (2764), complete the top ten.
Russia (2746) commands in the contest by countries, followed by Ukraine (2702) and China (2670), while Cuba is placed 18th thanks to 2589 points averaging its 10 leading figures.
This group is made up, besides Leinier and Bruzón, by Yuniesky Quesada (2596), Isam Ortiz (2585), Yusnel Bacallao (2543), Yuri Gonzalez (2543) , Holden Hernández (2541), Walter Arencibia (2526), Antonio Carlos Hevia (2524 ) and Aramis Alvarez (2513).
