        1. ….Rg2 threatens Nf4# and 2.Kxg2 allows the knight fork from e3. Since the white a-pawn is firmly controlled by the black b-pawn, black’s knight can easily capture the a-pawn on either a2 or a3 long before the white king can do anything worthwhile.

        1 … g4+, 2. Kh4 (Kxg4 allows the fork), Rxh2+. Now, if 3 Kg5, Kf7, with h6# looming.

        White has only slightly more hope with 3 Kg3, but Rh3+ 4 Kf2 (the key: with Q on light squares, keep K on dark), followed by Rg2 drives the white King to the first rank. 5) Kf1 leads to the fork on e3, while Ke1 allows the simple Rg1+.

        white may try 1.Qxd5 exd5 2.Kxg2 but the endgame is won for black.
