      Draws are for guys

      Doha, Qatar, Women's Grand Prix

Sofia and other no draw rules are not needed for women’s chess events. After 7 rounds of the Doha Grand Prix, about 75% of all the games ended in decisive results (11 draws in 42 games)! In round 7, all 6 games were decisive, with Black and White each won 3.

What’s even more stunning is that three of the former women’s world champions are tied for last place. This is how hard fought and competitive this tournament has been so far.

      Round 7 results

A low draw percentage doesn’t indicate competitive chess, it indicates poor quality chess, or at the very least, a vast disparity between the good and bad players.

I agree with anon, the low draw percentage could have happened in a male tourn with an average rating of 2400-2500

Did you know that with computers performing at the 3200 level there are a lot more decisive matches than draws?

Only a person who was absolutely clueless about chess would make such a ridiculous allegation. Maybe at very low levels that you guys are at there are very few draws.

This doesn’t mean you can extrapolate and say “the higher up you go in chess, the more draws there are”.

The 3rd Anonymous: I can see you have some kind of mental impairment which prevents you from thinking properly, these women do have an average of 2400-2500.
