The International Chess Federation (FIDE) answered to Peru’s commitment to pay the more than 7,000 euros debt, which made FIDE to exclude Peru from competitions.
FIDE reported that once Peru Peru cancels the whole debt, its teams can participate again in international tournaments.
In the meantime, Peruvian chess players can continue participating in competitions individually, if they have already scheduled them, reported Daysi Zereceda, from Peruvian Sports Institute (IPD).
Zereceda did not informed when exactly will the IPD pay the whole debt, but said it woulf happen in a few days.
Tomorrow it will start the “Rey de Reyes” (“King of Kings”) cup at Eduardo Dibós coliseum in San Borja; the entrance is free and the event will be broadcast by TVPeru.
