FIDE World Championship events coming to the US?

Illinois, Mikhail Korenman, Sevan Muradian, Skokie

      http://www.worldchesschamps.com/

      May 19th, 2009

Welcome to the website for the 2010 World Amateur and World School Team Championships.

For the first time in a decade, the United States is being considered to host not 1 but 2, FIDE World Chess Championship events.

The last time a FIDE World Chess Championship was held in the United States was in 1999 in Las Vegas – the FIDE World Championship (Knockout).

The bids that have been submitted have the authorization and support of the Internation Chess School Union, the US Chess Federation, and the Illinois Chess Association, along with a letter of support from the Mayor of the host city – Skokie, IL. The venue in the bid is the Holiday Inn North Shore Hotel, site of the North American FIDE Invitational tournament series and the 2008 & 2009 US G/60 and US G/30 National Chess Championships.

Over the course of the coming days and weeks we will announce further information on this event.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the organizers.

      Good Chess to All,
Sevan A. Muradian and Dr. Mikhail Korenman
Organizers for the 2010 World Amateur and World School Team Chess Championships

We wish Mr. Muradian and Dr. Korenman the best! We hope they will be successful in getting these events to the U.S.

This is another one of many reasons why Dr. Korenman should be elected to the USCF Executive Board instead of Goichberg and Jim Berry who have done nothing to advance chess in America.

If they get it, it would be in spite of Goichberg and the USCF. Good luck Sevan and Mikhail!

I had a drink with the great William Goichberg last week.

Bill Goichberg, Randy Hough and Jerry Hanken were caught red handed in a bribery scandal. Instead of accepting responsibility for his action, Bill Goichberg continued to lie to the USCF members while denying that he had anything to do with it in spite of the corrobotation of 4 different individuals. There’re also clear and precise evidence such as email coming from and to these parties.

Would Mr. Goichberg be willing to sign an affidavit that he’s not involved or he had nothing to do with it, and he’s not aware of any bribery?

If proven true, would Mr. Goichberg resign as President of the USCF as well as his membership to the USCF?

If Mr. Goichberg is telling the truth, he shouldn’t have anything to worry about. If he refuses, it means that he clearly lied and covered it up.
