      Four-way tie for the first at 27th Carlos Torre Repetto Memorial

      The 27th International Chess Tournament in memoriam of GM Carlos Torre Repetto was held from December 17th through December 21st, 2015, in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.

      The event was a 9-round Swiss FIDE tournament and 113 players from 12 different federations took part in it.

      The first place was shared in a four-way tie by Cuban players GM Lazaro Bruzon Batista, GM Yusnel Bacallao Alonso, GM Yuniesky Quesada Perez and Peruvian GM Jorge Cori, after the whole group finished the event with 7/9 points.

      However, Bruzon took the trophy on a superior tie-break score, Cori took the silver, while Bacallao remained third.

      WIM Ayelen Martinez from Argentina grabbed the top female prize with 5.5 points and 32nd place at the final ranking.
