      GM Alberto David wins rapid tournament in Schifflange, Luxembourg

      The Smashing Pawns organized a rapid chess tournament on 20th September in Schifflange, Luxembourg.

      The tournament consisted of 104 players coming from 11 federations which is a great representation. The playing format was 9-round Swiss with the time control 15′+5”. The event is rated with FIDE.

      GM Alberto David, formerly of Luxembourg and now representing Italy, emerged clear winner with 8,0/9 points to claim the top prize of 1000 EUR.

      1. David A. GM 2566 ITA – 8,0
      2. Nezar M. IM 2404 FRA – 7,5
      3-6. Feller S. GM 2619 FRA, Epishin V. GM 2601 RUS, Hamitevici V. IM 2431 MDA and Wiedenkeller M. IM 2478 LUX – 7,0
      7-11. Haub Thorsten M. IM 2478 GER, Dgebuadze A. GM 2554 BEL, Weber T. IM 2395 LUX, Smerdon D. GM 2573 AUS and Berend F. IM 2412 LUX – 6,5 etc
