      GM Ziaur Rahman is 2014 Bangladesh chess champion

      The 40th Berger Paints National ‘A’ Chess Championship-2014 was organised by Bangladesh Chess Federation and sponsored by Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited from 20th September 2014 to 4th October 2014 at the Media Center of Bangladesh Olympic Association in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

      GM Ziaur Rahman emerged a clear winner with 11 points, leaving the runner-up GM Niaz Murshed a full point behind.

      Third place was shared by GM Enamul Hossain and GM Al-Rakib Abdulla and according to the tournament rules, they will play a play-off match on 11th October to decide the bronze medal.

      IM Ahmed Minhazuddin will face FM Nasir Ahmed for the fifth place, while FM Aminul Islam will play against FM Debaraj Chatterjee to decide the ninth position. You can see the full standings below.
