      Peruvian Grandmaster Julio Granda Zuniga completely dominated the 5th Open Internacional de LLucmajor that was held from 8-15th May at the Club Nautico de LLucmajor, Mallorca, Spain.

      Granda Zuniga finished the event with 8,5/9 points, conceding only one draw in the 2nd round and then proceeding to defeat a host of Grandmasters. With 2699,3 live elo the 49-years old Grandmaster is on the brink of joining the elite 2700-club.

      177 players from 33 countries participated in the tournament. Among them were 25 Grandmasters and 25 International Masters. Full standings below.
