      Hans Christian Andersen Mindgames 2013

      Chess tournament, Denmark


      The Ejby Chess Club invites everybody to the 2013 edition of the H. C. Andersen Mindgames. Naturally, it will be played in the famous writer’s own birthplace, Odense.

      The event will be played from Wednesday, May 8th 2013 until Sunday, May 12th 2013. The playing venue is at the Hotel Scandic, Hvidkærvej 25, 5250 Odense SV, Denmark.

      It will be a 9 rounds Swiss Tournament. Swissmanager will be used for pairings. It is open for everybody.

      The time control will be 90 minute for 40 moves, with addition of 30 minutes for the rest of the game + 30 sec. a move from move 1.

      The main prizes will be given out as follows: 1st – 5.000 DKK (approx. 900 USD); 2nd – 4.000 DKK; 3rd – 3.000 DKK; 4th – 2.000 DKK; 5th – 1.000 DKK.

      Rating prizes will be announced on the official website and on the venue according to number of players. A blitz tournament will be organized on Friday, May 10th at 21.00.

      Lithuanian GM Eduardas Rozentalis is the first seed, followed by Russian GM Vladimir Epishin, Bulgarian GMs Krasimir Ruse and Momchil Nikolov, and Icelandic GM Henrik Danielsen.
