Doesn’t White offer better resistance answering 1. Nxf2 with 1. … Ra3? Still not an enviable position for White, but Black’s path is not so obvious from this position as after 1. … Kxf2.
Mix up in White & Black notation earlier. It should be:
1. … Nxf2
2. Ra3
