I am happy with any opponent

Chess interview, Judit Polgar, Khanty-Mansiysk, World Cup

JUDIT POLGAR: I AM HAPPY WITH ANY OPPONENT

The world’s strongest woman player Judit Polgar won as Black against Sergey Movsesian, securing herself a pass to the Round 3. Tomorrow she will be watching tie-breaks, waiting for her next opponent.

      — Judit, was it a difficult match?

      — Victories are always hard to achieve. Today I had a tough psychological dilemma in the opening, but I think Movsesian had similar problems.

      — Is 2011 a successful year for you so far?

      — It is a decent year. I won the bronze at the European Individual championship in France and am very happy about it. I am also satisfied with the level of my play.

      — Your next opponent will be decided in the match between Karjakin and So. Will you be rooting for the Philippine player?

      — First of all I was to have some rest, but I will observe the games, too. I am happy with any opponent, but I think Karjakin remains the favorite.
