Dear Ju Wenjun, what are your impressions of Armenia? Did you like the city of Jermuk?

This is my first time in Jermuk, Armenia. The city is very beautiful, people are very kind. It’s an honor and I feel very happy to play chess in Jermuk. I truly like this city very much.

You always participate in Grand Prix tournaments. According to the experts you played quite successfully in Nalchik. What other Grand Prix tournaments impressed you more?

Each Grand Prix is excellent high level event. The organizers are friendly. I have to say Jermuk impress me a lot. Chess is a very popular game here.

Have you prepared for this tournament and what expectations do you have?

I prepared this tournament very hard. Every game is important for me. About my own expectations, any result is acceptable as I do my best.

All Grand Prix tournaments have rather strong participants. What can you say about the participants of this tournament? Do you think there are favorites?

The participants of this tournament are quite strong with different specialties. I think all of them are strong in their own way and have considerable experience. I can learn a lot from them.

What would you identify as the most important traits in a person? How do you envision the world champion?

Most of all, I appreciate the characteristic of sincerity in people.

The world champion is talented and plays marvelous chess games. One consequence is that this makes more people interested in the game of chess.
