Interview with Ni Hua after his victory at Australian Open 2015

Ni Hua scored the amazing 10,5/11 to win the 2015 Australian Open in New South Wales, Australia. After round 7 he was qualified as Caruana’s impersonation, as his start resembled Caruana’s historical perfect 7/7 score at the beginning of the 2014 Sinquefield Cup. He continued with a draw, followed by three victories, in what Ni Hua himself stated to be his “best tournament ever”.

Here is an interview with the happy winner of the Australian Open. Scroll to the beginning of the viedo for more interviews and game analysis. Further in the video there are highlights from the 2015 Australian Open by CM Gary Bekker, featuring interviews with IM Max Illingworth, IM Moulthun Ly, and GM Murtas Kazhgaleyev. kindly provided by the Melbourne Chess Club

GM Ni Hua and Bu Xiangzhi used to be 2700+ players. Now their ranking has gone down and the’ve been overtaken by newcomers Ding Liren, Li Chao B and Yu Yangyi. This victory will somehow boost his ranking.
