      Italian Team Chess Championships 2012 concluded

      Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura, Italian Team Championship

      The Italian Team Chess Championships for men and women concluded in Arvier, Aosta Valley.

      Obiettivo Risarcimeno – Padova with GM Fabiano Caruana, GM Hikaru Nakamura, GM Kiril Georgiev, IM Duilio Collutiis, GM Igor Efimov, GM Michele Godena, and IM Fabio Bellini, won the title with 13,0/14 match points.

      Silver medals are for Scavolini Datagest Pesaro – GM Sutovsky, GM Brunello, IM Denis Rombaldoni, GM Vocaturo, GM Marin, IM Axel Rombaldoni – with 12,0/14 points.

      Bronze is for Chieti – GM Gawain Jones, GM Carlos Garcia Palermo, IM Carlo D’amore, IM Andrea Stella, IM Mogranzini and IM Borgo – with 9,0/14 MP.

      Chieti also won the gold medal in the women section (GM Marie Sebag, IM Martha Fierro, IM Olga Zimna, WFM Mariagrazia De Rosa, and Eugenia Di Primio) with perfect score 10,0/10 MP. Silver medals are for Scacchisti.it, Bologna with 8,0/10 and bronze is for Vitinia with 6,0/10.

        Nakamura should have some self-respect and hide in shame rather than appearing in that photo. A 10-move draw as white, against a much weaker opponent, in a position with a lot of life left in it? Are you kidding me? Whoever paid him to “play” should demand a refund and ask Italian authorities to ban him from entering the country in the future.
