      Kasparov picks Kramnik and Obama

      Garry Kasparov, World Politics

Kasparov recently picked Kramnik to win the World Championship match against Anand. Today, he picks Senator Obama to win the U.S. President Election. Here is the article:

      Kremlin critic Kasparov backs Obama
From correspondents in Ajaccio October 28, 2008

CHESS legend turned Kremlin critic Garry Kasparov has thrown his weight behind the Democrat Barack Obama as the next US president, saying the country needs “change”.

“Barack Obama is the right person in the right place at the right time,” Kasparov said today on the sidelines of a chess tournament in the French Mediterranean island of Corsica.

“The United States like the rest of the world is in need of change,” the former world chess champion said.

He was speaking as the epic duel between White House front-runner Senator Obama and his Republican rival John McCain entered its final full week ahead of the November 4 election.

Today’s Gallup tracking poll of likely voters nationwide gave Senator Obama a lead of 50 per cent to 45 per cent over Senator McCain. Broader polls of registered voters give the Democrat a double-digit margin.

Mr. Kasparov should keep his nose out of other countries’ internal affairs.

same thing would apply to the united states but they never do.

So it is important not to get another Bush … you know, for good measure.

Yes, I agree. Kasparov has the right to make a fool of himself anytime he wants. We have the right to think he’s an idiot.

How ironic that Kasparov is backing the candidate that would change the U.S. in the direction of Putin’s Russia.

well, according to a few Obama is a muslim communist terrorist … go and figure out the whole Republican campaign.

Kasparov is only to be admired for his stand against Putin.

Yeah, Obama’s gonna push the country toward Soviet style governance. I picture things like
        -unmitigated surveillance.
        -utter lack of govt. transparency.
-govt. takeover of huge pillars of industry
        -permission to torture

        Hey, wait just a sec… ?!

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read ‘Vote Obama, I need the money.’ I laughed.

Once in the restaurant my server had on a ‘Obama 08’ tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference — just imagine the coincidence.

When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need–the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I’ve decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy
was grateful. At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but
the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more.

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application…

Derek said: “How ironic that Kasparov is backing the candidate that would change the U.S. in the direction of Putin’s Russia.”

Don’t be silly, Derek: Obama’s views are much closer to Lenin’s than Putin’s.

Unbelieveable that Kasparov would endorse a socialist for U.S. President. I am stunned. Obama would push the U.S. in the direction of the statism that Kasparov so abhors and also give the green light to Putin to do whatever he wants without worrying about any thoughtful, effective response from the U.S.

I suppose the suggestion is that Kasparov probably got it wrong with Kramnik – so he’s probably got it wrong with Obama.

You may desperate to elect someone with the initials SP, but surely there is a limit to the paucity of argument you are prepared to employ.

The Republicans have gotten us our CCC rating on the international stage: we have to get back to AAA. That means change, however neat your story about servers and beggars.

‘Redistribution’ is about growing the underlying economy, creating value, and including more in the benefits – not about taking away from the rich to give to the poor.

Vote for a healthier America, vote for change, vote Obama.

Garry needs to ride in a car with Ted Kennedy.

You know what happens to anyone that is a passenger in Ted Kennedy’s car?

Well lets see The world chess champion has that right to speak every nation has that right. But see kasparov do not know Barack Obama.Well let see all US representatives works for the state and not for the people.well let me tell you this guys that the United States and the soviets are allies and one socialist nation.Thats why the wall was down because the russians found his brothers and allies the west which is the United States. And by the way democrats & republicans are the same party the word is the difference that is the change there.notice all representatives of the United States got the same idea and that is war not peace to all man kind.To me Ron Paul is the best president because he wants peace second he wants to create more jobs and he also believes that all human beings can lived together as one brothers and with peace.

Well this nation is base on rights and The world chess champion has the right to speak what he thinks its right for him. This United States is about freedom of speach and Press and many more in other words people God our creator given rights.Well lets see America is already a socialist nation nows lets look at our history to that we put a kinds of government together to form a great nation.we bave nazism socialism and many more to form this nation.Ok now lets look at how the berlin wall went down and why? The answer to that is that the Russians finds allies The West and that is the United States. Now socialism is been around in this country for so long. But the idea of picking Barack Obama is wrong for this country because number lne Barack Obama works for the State not for the people. Now whats that tells us?That allUS representatives are the same parties Democrats & Republicans the name is different but they are all the same function.Notice one of their smart ideas is taking as all to war instead of peace to all human kind. Now look very carefully all US.representatives they all voted for war and there is one one who is smart that is Godly who will say no to war and that is Senator Ron Paul.I think to my opinion He is a smart and intelligent wise and strong president he represents us all the people. He said the we dl not need war to make money but we a can do business to each other without fighting. We can lived together as peaceful people. We stop the fighting and we can start respecting every nation.o.ce we all in peace we will become a great and strong nation.Tomany people do not know how to think whats right and whats wrong now a days common sense people.Because our creator did not say war but peace to all mankind.
