Kasparov’s take on the success of Carlsen

      Gary Kasparov, Magnus Carlsen

“Congratulations to Magnus Carlsen for his huge victory at the Tata Steel Chess tournament in Wijk aan Zee! He matched my record score of 10/13 there and without losing a game, and he pushed his record rating up even higher.

I would like to say he owes his success to my year of coaching him, but it was already clear then and even clearer now that Magnus is a very special talent with no limits on what he can achieve,” Kasparov said.

Magnus should name his 1st son Gary Carlsen. Magnus should also give Gary Kasparov 75% of all future earnings. Without Kasparov, Magnus would be a 2500 player.

actually is not saying that. “I would like” is not the same as “I do”, except if this is a bad translation

If you read correctly, it does not mean he takes credit…

Yes Carlsen is today’s prodigious chess talent. I sure hope he does not choke in the candidates and goes on to win. We all want to see Carlsen vs Anand in a match.

Who can prove that Magnus didn’t have all these years an undetectable bug in his ear, allowing him to hear Garry’s advice?
