      Last minute reminders for participants of 2020 SPF Girl’s Online Invitational

      Dear Players,

      The day has arrived! We are almost ready to go. A few last minute reminders!

      Tournament starts TODAY soon. Everyone is playing today!

      By now you should have done the following:

      • Join the Club on chess.com
      • Championship section:
      • Open section:
      • Have the zoom link if you are in the Championship section
      • make sure to name yourself as: Lastname, Firstname
      • Have the link for the tournament
      • Championship section:
      • Open Section:





      Reminder what to do:

      1. Log in to chess.com
      2. 1 hour before the tournaments start – get ready by Joining the tournament
      3. If you are in the Championship section: log into the zoom meeting
      4. 5 minutes before the tournaments start – be ready in front of the computer to get paired and start the tournament.

      First round is at

      • 8AM Pacific Time
      • 11AM East Coast Time
      • 5PM/17:00 Central European Time
      • 8:30PM/20:30 Indian Standard time

      Tournament Info summary:

      • 7SS G/15+2.
      • Round 1 through 4 are paired automatically by chess.com immediately following each other.
      • 30 mins break after Round 4.
      • Round 5 through 7 are paired again automatically by chess.com immediately following each other.

      **Most important: DO NOT CHEAT! Follow the Fair Play rules at all times.**Cheaters will be caught, we have several ways to monitor, screen and detect cheaters, and you are risking possible consequences at your own federation if it’s proven that you used outside assistance. IT’S NOT WORTH IT!

      Dear Players,

      Quite a few of you are asking what to do with Zoom:

      1. Click on the zoom link, and join the meeting.
      2. Make sure your camera and microphone is ON.
      3. Wait for the initial instructions, and greetings by GM Polgar.
      4. 5 minutes before the tournament starts, please TURN YOUR SPEAKER OFF:
      5. hover over the microphone icon (says Mute, right below the camera views)
      6. click audio setting –> speaker –> Output volume – turn to zero.
      7. Leave your microphone on, and leave the chat box on
      8. Go to chess.com and play your game.
      9. Once your game is finished, check back to the zoom chat for any mid tournament instructions.

      Zoom meeting LINK: Meeting ID: 854 3495 7815 Password: 879374 Zoom meeting will be open from 10AM EDT. Join early to make sure that you are all set! First round starts at 11AM EDT.

      Zoom meeting requirements:

      1. Sit in a quiet room, with no background noise.
      2. Web camera must be ON, facing player, showing player’s full face.
      3. Microphone must be ON. No self mute!
      4. You zoom speaker should be OFF, so that you don’t hear accidental background noise from others.
      5. No hats.
      6. No cell phones near the computer/player.
      7. Players are NOT allowed to stand up during the game. Between games a quick bathroom break is okay, at player’s own risk of missing next round.
      8. At any point the organizers may ask for screen share. Denying will make the player ineligible for prizes.

      There will be several zoom monitors, each will have Arbiter-Zoom Monitor next to their name, please reach out to them with any questions.
