      Leading Azerbaijani chess players attend festival in Ujar

      Ujar has hosted the chess festival involving Azerbaijani grandmasters Shahriyar Mammadyarov, Gadir Huseynov, Rauf Mammadov and Eltaj Safarli, as well as captain of the youth national team of the country Jahangir Agarahim.

      The guests of the festival were the vice president of the Chess Federation of Azerbaijan, international category arbiter Faik Hasanov, MP, rector of the Azerbaijan State Economic University Shamsaddin Hajiyev and others.

      The event involved over 100 chess players from ten regions of the country. The festival was divided into two parts. The first involved children’s team contests and in the second the grandmasters held synchronous games on 50 boards.

      The winners of the team contests and chess players who excelled during these games got a cup, awards, money and valuable prizes.
