      Welcome to the Maccabiah Chess Festival Web Page
      The 18th Maccabiah Games will be held on July 12-23, 2009

      The Maccabiah Games have included chess tournaments for more than 30 years. Now, especially for the 18th Maccabiah Games, we have organized for the first time a super-tournament, with the participation of elite chess players from all over the world.

      The Festival will include four main events:

      International Super-Torunament, featuring top players from all over the world such as Boris Gelfand (Israel), Judit Polgar (Hungary), Pavel Eljanov (Ukraine), Evgeniy Najer (Russia), Alexander Beliavsky (Slovenia), etc.

      International Invitational Chess Tournaments, Norm opportunity for top players.

      International Open Tournament.

      International Youth Tournament, for players who were born between 1991 and 1994.

      Simultaneous Chess Exhibitions , GM’s will play against many opponents at the same time.
