      Moscow Workshop for the training of International Arbiters

      Arbiter, Moscow


      From 23 to 25 May 2014 a Workshop for the training of the International Arbiters was organized in Moscow, Russia, by the Russian Chess Federation, in cooperation with the FIDE Arbiters’ Commission and under the auspices of FIDE.

      The venue of the Workshop was the office of the Russian Chess Federation in Moscow, while the participants were accommodated in Radisson Slavanskaya Hotel.

      The lecturers were IA Andrzej Filipowicz (POL), Chairman of the FIDE Technical Commission and FIDE Lecturer, and IA Alexander Tkachev (RUS), FIDE Lecturer.

      The lectures were in Russian language.

      The subjects that were discussed during the lectures included the changes of the Laws of Chess that will be in effect from 1 July 2014, the changes in the titles and ratings regulations that are in effect from 1 July 2013 and those that will be in effect from 1 July 2014, the regulations for the titles of Arbiters, the regulations for the Dutch Swiss system, the cheating in Chess and Anti cheating guidelines for the Arbiters and incidents that happened during the games and the Arbiter’s decisions.

      Twenty eight (28) International Arbiters from six (6) Federations (Russia, Australia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Azerbaijan) participated in the Workshop and received certificates of attendance after the end of the lectures.
