Carlsen is really peerless right now. He has no in-form, out-of-form cycles. He’s competitive everytime. Thus, the rivalry over the short term will not be one-on-one, more like Carlsen vs whoever plays well. There will be a phenom kid, though, who will emerge as the new top gun in the coming years.
