Yes a disaster for USA guys.
Congrats to IM Martha Fierro winning Womens Continental and a spot in World Cup. Just 1 day after her 32nd birthday!

Naiditsch is a great talent who has grown very slow, but now he seems to get one of the best in the world. Where will he stop? Perhaps on the very top? Who knows?

        okay from germany

Regarding the American players: Bhat is also American and did quite well in the tournament.

Regarding Naiditsch: I am also (originally) German and pleased about his victory, but winning a category 15 tournament doesn’t mean that much with regard to “getting one of the best in the world” or even “stopping at the very top”. Recently, Dortmund showed that he still has some way to go. Seems like in Montreal he more or less regained the rating points lost in Dortmund, putting him just below 2700 hence ‘ below’ the live rating list.
