        Shouldn’t Nakamura be #1?

Naka does not live in New England.

I think IM James Rizzitano is missing from the list. I could be wrong, but I thought he lives in MA.

I guess a caveat is in order here. I took the info from the USCF’s “top members by state” list and I believe it only lists active players. I believe that means they have to have played a rated game within the last year and Rizz hasn’t played in about 2 years. Good catch though!

Rhode Island used to have guys like Jorge Hasbun-Sammour, Dave Griego, Sandeep Joshi, Jim Thibault, Eugene Curtin and a lot of masters.

It’s true about the RI players, but
Joshi hasn’t played since about 1986, Thibault seldom after the mid 80s, and the last time I saw Griego in action was at Philadelphia in 1994. I believe Curtin was a student from Ireland, who left the area about the time I moved to Boston (1982). Sammour plays out of New York now.
