      Obiettivo Risarcimento Padova with Caruana & Nakamura wins Italian Club Championship

      Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura, Italian Team Championship


      The 46th Italian Team Chess Championship for men took place from 30th April to 4th May, 2014 in Condino, Italy.

      The last-year winner Obiettivo Risarcimento Padova tops the championship again with 13 points, a full point ahead of the runner-up.

      Members of the champion are GM Fabiano Caruana (2783), GM Hikaru Nakamura (2772), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (2758), GM Kiril Georgiev(2623), GM Michele Godena (2528), GM Daniele Vocaturo (2579), GM Danyyil Dvyrnyy (2560) and GM Roberto Morganzini (2499).

      The team of Chieti is the runner-up with 12 points, leaving the nearest follower 3 points behind. Chieti includesGM Ivan Lopez Salgado (2612), GM Carlos Palermo Garcia (2455), IM Alessio Valsecchi (2407), IM Andrea Stella (2433) and IM Carlo D’Amore (2493).

      Libertas Nereto takes the bronze with 9 points. The team consists of GM Rafal Antoniewski (2540), IM Luca Shytaj (2453), IM Elisabeth Paehtz (2440), IM Fabio Bruno (2413), IM Pierluigi Pescopo (2409) and FM Mario Sibilio (2325).
