      Paul Keres Memorial by Estonian Chess Federation

      The Estonian Chess Federation is holding Paul Keres Memorial Festival 2014 on 10-16th January to celebrate the 98th birth anniversary of Grandmaster Paul Keres who was elected the Estonian Sportsman of the 20th century.

      The playing venue will be at Paul Keres Chess House, Vene Str 29, Tallinn.

      The Festival is organized by the Estonian Chess Federation in cooperation with the Council of Gambling Tax, the Estonian Ministry of Culture, the Tallinn City Sports and Youth Department, the Cultural Endowment of Estonia.

      Concurrently, the Estonian Sports Association Kalev is holding its own 23rd International Rapid Chess Tournament Paul Keres Memorial on 10-12th January.

      The Festival will consist of two events:
      – A Tournament “International Paul Keres Memorial Tournament”, open to all players
      – B Tournament “Youth Tournament Tallinn 2014″, open to all youth chess players born 1996 and later

      The main A Tournament will be a 9-round Swiss System in accordance with the FIDE Laws of Chess. The rate of play will be 90 minutes for the entire game with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move one.

      The top prizes are EUR 2000, 1500, 1000, 700, 500, 400 etc
      There are also special prizes for best women, seniors and youth categories.
