      Ikaros 2015: Prohaszka is the winner with one round to go!

      Absolute triumph for the 23 year old Hungarian GM Peter Prohaszka at the 38th International Chess Tournament “Ikaros” 2015.With one round to go Prohaszka retains a perfect score (8/8, with a 3055 performance!) and increased his lead over his closest pursuer, the Belgian Mathias De Wachter, to 1,5 points, which means that he already has clinched the first place!

      Prohaszka, who seldom plays in international tournament, is a frequent participant of Ikaros tournament with considerable success (he was the winner of Ikaros in 2012 and 2014 (with a perfect 9/9!))

      In contrast to the first place of the tournament, the winners of the Aegean Championship will be determined only after the last round with many players been potential candidates for the titles.

      The 6th Mediterranean Rapid Team Tournament “Ikaros” 2015 that took place on Friday 17th of July, the winner was the strong Serbian team while the team of Ikaria was the first among the Mediterranean teams!

      The closing ceremony of Ikaros International Chess Tournament 2015 will take place on Sunday 19th of July, at 10.00 a.m.m at the Sports Center of Aghios Kyrikos. The winners in all categories will be awarded cups and medals while there will be a honorary award to all the blind chess players who competed in equal terms in this international event!
