Playing chess nearly 1,000 feet underground

Carlsbad Caverns, Knight Raiders, New Mexico, SPICE, Texas Tech

The Texas Tech Knight Raiders chess team members are on their way to Carlsbad Caverns to play a rated chess tournament. It will take them about an hour just to manually descent about 1,000 feet to the spot where they will have the tournament. Then they will engage in a 6 round SS rated tournament.

The event has been approved by the National Park Service and Texas Tech University. I will update this special event on location.

I’m thinking of buying this Susan Polgar autograph on ebay for $39.99 plus shipping unless Susan can get me a cheaper copy.
