Levon Aronian vs. Magnus Carlsen
Boris Gelfand vs. Rustam Kasimdzhanov
Michael Adams vs. Alexei Shirov
Please feel free to post comments on the playoff games.
I will try to do some commentary on the Magnus Carlsen – Aronian match.
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
I’m looking forward to the Aronian – Carlsen matchup.
What are the rules for playoff games?
Does anyone know whether or not the classic time control matches that have just been played will count towards their elo ratings?
How can I follow all three matches on one screan?
Firs round Aronian, Shirov and Gelfand 1-0
Yes on: http://globalchess.eu/games.php
Classical Time controls will all apply to player’s ratings.
Play offs like the rapid games will not apply to ratings.
I am completely amazed by the number of decisive games Aronian-Carlsen are turning out. Their match might be more dramatic than the rest of the candidates put together!
Goodnite! How strong is this kid?
Playing Aronian to a standstill after 9 chess games is very impressive.
How strong he is says the rating calculator:He plays at level of 2760 ELO vs. Aronian.
That’s way much stronger than Kasparov or Kramnik or anyone at age of 16.
If his rating chart progresses
as of the mentioned players ,by the age 23 he is expected to be like 2850+ ELO.It’s not question any more when he is going to break 2800 barrier but his development rises interesting question if it possible for humans to reach 2900 ELO mark.
Magnificent Magnus is the serious candidate to give it a try.
