      Timoshenko’s diamond stolen in Kiev

Leonid Timoshenko, a representative of the Ukrainian Chess Federation, has had a precious diamond he was carrying stolen.

He was accompanying a diamond-encrusted cup, which had been won by the Ukrainian National Chess Team in the World-Wide Chess Olympiad in Germany, on a flight from Frankfurt to Kiev.

After landing, Timoshenko saw that his bag had been opened up. The cup, which is named after the famous Georgian chess player Nona Gaprindashvili, was broken and the stone had vanished.

The group carrying the cup had flown through Frankfurt on their way back to Kiev. It was in Frankfurt that they were forced to check the cup into baggage. On the previous flight from Dresden they were allowed to take it onboard as a carry-on piece.

The president of the Ukranian Chess Federation, Viktor Petrov, has already filed a report with the police.Mikhael Kravets, Deputy director of aviation security at Boryspil Airport, said that Georgians might be involved in the theft.

“Going into the the things of our passengers is widespread among Georgians,” he said. “We’re wrestling with this problem, but defeating evil that has been accumulating for many years is difficult.”

        this is complete BULLSHIT…
Borispol people are russians and they will SAY anything horrible to blame georgians into things that are their responsibility to control.

What georgians would be doing in borispol airport baggage department?
Im 99% sure that this was done by ANGRY RUSSIANS who lost in olympiad even to grab a third prize and had to return to their russia empty handed.. well I guess after all, they were able to stole a diamond instead of stealing a MEDAL…

Well, when I was in Israel 20 years ago most of the luggage guys at the airport were gruzinis, they do that job because they are strong.

Everybody knew they would steal anything they could get their hands on.

Nothing like a few racial stereo-types to remind the rest of the world how ignorant and backward some peoples attitudes still are.

Mikhael Kravets, Deputy director of aviation security at Boryspil Airport said “Going into the the things of our passengers is widespread among Georgians,”

My advice to Mr Kravets is that he should resign his job if that is how he feels, as he is obviously completely incompetent.

If he seriously believes that the security problem he has is due to employing Georgians, then why does he employ Georgians?

If, as is more likely, he is just very bad at his job, then he should simply quit.

guys guys guys,,, this source of information is from RUSSIA TODAY.. which is PUTIN’s personal disinformation machine that contribued to spread all the lies about Russia=Georgia conflict and only aim of this site is to make Georgians look bad. It is a shame.

Well if like one anonymous said that all georgians were in baggage (it is not true), then I may as well say that all strip bars and streets of New York City are full of russian hooker girls.

This is a big “lost-in-translation” mistake – a representative from Borispol airport never said anything about Georgians. He accused baggage handlers. These words in Russian are written simular way, and a translator made a huge mistake. Russian is probably not his native language.
