      Chess quote, Hikaru Nakamura

      U.S. Champion GM Hikaru Nakamura:

“I must be a very bad chess player since I keep liking Anand’s positions and he keeps offering draws instead of trying to win.”

sure it is easy with Rybka isnt it? Moreover if it was easy for you Gelfand would not be the one sitting opposite the board with Anand. Same position is different when playing in WC and outside of WC. Even if this WC is decided by Rapids, hey atleast someone better would be called WC instead of seville 87 where a 12-12 tier was jumping up and down as if he is a WC. Another K got privileges in 97 and shamelessly accepted the title of WC. Great Garry always played with draw odds which forces the opp to risk. Football WC has been decided by penalties. Grand slams have been decided by tie-breaks. Garry played a 13 move draw with vlad with white.. yeah he can put a spin. BTW the sponsors are not complaining. There is always the next sponsor if they do.

Fail to understanding why people are attacking Nakamura. He is one of a handful of players who is at the very top, so why not listen to what he has to say?

I am not sure you are a bad player.. but definitely not a great player.. otherwise Garry would not shown you the door. Yeah Garry worked with Magnus too. Where he is and where you are.
