Is this tournament open only to Region IX students or open to any other scholastic in Texas outside region IX?

I think any region. I think kids from Lubbock, Slaton, Shallowater, and other places are coming.

Hope kids from El Paso can come to this event too. They have a growing scholastic players there but not just going out to play regionals or even states.

Non-Region IX players are welcomed and encouraged to come.

Only Region IX players can win the Region IX trophies though.

If we have enough non-Region IX entries, I’ll be happy to get some non-Regional trophies. If I don’t have enough entries to make trophies reasonable, I’ll have a special guest entry fee for non-Region IX players of $ 5 off the regular rate.

Either way, we’re working hard to make this tournament more than a tournament for the kids. The Christian school has opened its campus up for us, and we’re trying to organize as many things for the kids to do as we can think of and organize so the kids will have lots to do between rounds.

Lubbock and El Paso are not in Region IX.. The list of counties are on the TCA website. If you think I need to, I’ll list them. The biggest cities in the region are Midland, Odessa, San Angelo, Abilene, Brownwood.

        Hope this helps people out.

        Charlie
