Sasikiran: “Why I like Stockholm as a chess city”

      Rilton Cup, Sasikiran

      stockholm

The Indian GM Krishnan Sasikiran (2658) has a special feeling for Stockholm, Sweden’s capital. He played in Hasselbacken Chess Open in May. Now he returns for Rilton Cup 2016/2017.

The 46th Rilton Cup will be held from 27th December 2016 to 5th January 2017 at Clarion Hotel Stockholm, Ringvägen 98, Stockholm, Sweden.

Top prize in the 9-round open event is 20,000 SEK.

      Stockholm

“I like Stockholm as a chess city for good chess preparations”, says Sasikiran.

“It is a quiet place with a lot of parks and lakes with good scope to walk around without disturbance, which increases creative energy.”

Can the creative energy boost you to a top place in Rilton Cup?

“To win the tournament would be nice and I hope to play many good games in the forthcoming Rilton Cup”.

How will you prepare for the tournament?

“I shall prepare myself to be in good physical and mental shape before the event”.
