        Hi:
Do you (or other people reading this blog) believe that one can improve his play by just watching others play who have a bit higher elo. I mean, I started to watch others play on the internet by using a chess engine, and I was surprised that at different elo levels people play very similar and make similar mistakes. Could that help to improve your own game?
I know many people say, one should just study grandmasters….

        Thanks!

1.) Why are Leko, Moro, Gelfand and Judit on the list of participants of the World Cup?

2.) Why is nobody writing about that?

        Thanks.

Sorry. Why are… not on the list?

For me this has worked wonders. I play over a healthy diet of GM games and alot of the solataire type game collections. Currently working on Improve your Chess. This has been paramount in improving my play. Of course I supplement this diet with lots of tactics from this blog and books at home. Cheers

Rather than playing old games between string players, I prefer watching the games live. This way I get the opportunity to “think like the GMs”: I try my best to think of the next possible move: and if I am right I jump with joy. The actual moves played by the GMs then acts as a great revelation of the various possibilities on a chess board.

Rating is inflated!! Women never had such big and fake ratings!! Men rule the world of chess, playing it for women is the past!!

How is ‘trust’ created on the web -and how is it lost?
