      The ever dangerous GM Yury Shulman has quietly been doing well in the past few years. He came within a hair from eliminating Shirov in the World Cup. His FIDE rating has consistently been over 2600. This may be his year to win the US Championship. He is leading the field by a full point with just 3 rounds to play.
