The ECU – from Poverty to Prosperity

Official Web Site: http://www.wereurope.org/. Our team members have visited the majority of European federations. We have met with the presidents and board members of more than 50. We understand your needs – some of you require financial help, others are looking for technical and logistical support, as well as professional advice.

We make you three big promises:

      – We will ensure the prosperity of the ECU by bringing in corporate sponsors and partners. We already have one guarantee of €300,000 each year for the next four years. This is just the start, our work continues and we have more in the pipeline.
      – We will use that prosperity to help those in need.
      – We will supply you with the professional support that you seek.

      We will also:

Support the European Small Nations with a donation of €20,000, paid at least nine months before the start of their team championship, so that the organising federation can prepare properly.

Assist the ‘poorest’ federations, who otherwise could not participate in the European men’s & women’s Individual Championships, by inviting, free of charge, at least one of their representatives.

Facilitate the participation of the small nations in the European Team Championship by offering them special conditions and requiring these to be incorporated in future bids.

Build an experienced team which will help federations to develop their activities for chess in schools and in chess academies.

Cooperate with all federations or associations which promote the development of chess activity in Europe.

Initiate a European Grand Prix with a decent prize fund.

We will demonstrate to you the solidity of our offer during Khanty-Mansiysk.

Our promises do not depend in any way on the outcome of the FIDE election. We want a stand-alone ECU, absolutely independent politically and financially. For us the ECU election is an entirely separate issue from the FIDE election.

No more empty promises, no more politics, no more empty words. Our success in our federations, small and large alike, is the guarantee that stands behind our words. We have brought corporate sponsors and partners to the federations of Andorra, Hungary, Malta and Turkey, now we will do it for the ECU.

It is time now for the ECU to choose a capable management, one which can immediately deliver what its members need!

Our success in our federations is the guarantee of our promises.
Winning is a habit, Success is a choice
