      Turkey Tournament

      Turkey

      Dear Chess Enthusiasts:
Are you READY for one of the FUNNEST tournaments in your area???
Do you remember last year’s Turkey Tournament? This year’s Turkey Tournament will be even bigger! We are still giving away 1st – 3rd Place trophies and the fourth place winner in every section is still receiving a frozen turkey!
This year, we have 1st – 3rd place team trophies available as well . . . so hook up with other kids from your school to make a team! It’s absolutely simple (see the attached form).
This year we have six, count them, 1 2 3 4 5 6 SECTIONS!!!!!! All Kindergarten through 3rd graders do not need a USCF membership to gain a JTP (Junior Tournament Player) rating!!! This makes it even easier for first time tournament players and school friends to try their hand at a real USCF rated chess tournament without the cost of membership! WOW! Doesn’t that take the bird!
We have special side events planned and of course that extra delicious snack bar with baked potatoes and smoked turkey legs! Yum! Yum!
We have secured the gym of Sloan Creek Middle School as well as the Cafeteria and the hallway inbetween. We have free team tables upon request (first come, first serve)! Early registration is encouraged for a smoother start and earlier finish the day of this HUGE event. Tournament Directors from as far away as Denton and Ft. Worth have been consulted, and they agree that this will be the #1 Tournament to attend!
Put aside SATURDAY, November 14, 2009 to come see if you can supply your family with the frozen turkey for your Thanksgiving table! See the attached flyer for further details.
Spread the word, pass the butter, and start preparing for turkey! We look forward to seeing you and all your friends at the Lovejoy I. S. D., Sloan Creek Chess Club’s
      Turkey Tournament!
      Thank you.
      Sincerely and happy checkmating,
      –Tricia

I’d lose on purpose to get a Turkey instead of useless trophy!
