SPICE Cup Open 2012 with free entry
Susan Polgar and Webster University are organizing the 2012 edition of the SPICE Cup Open chess tournament. It will take place October 16-20 and for the first time it will have a free entry fee.
SPICE Cup Open will be held alongside the SPICE Cup Invitational tournament that is expected to be category 17-18. It will have a prize fund of $10,000 guaranteed ($4000 for the winner) and will be valid for IM/GM/WIM/WGM norms. The tournament is a 9 round Swiss with rate of play 90 minutes with a 30 second increment starting at move 1.
The event will be played at Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel 7730 Bonhomme Avenue St. Louis, MO 63105 (free shuttle from the Lambert – St. Louis International Airport). Limited free double occupancy accommodations available for GMs if registered by September 15, 2012.

Abierto SPICE Cup 2012 sin costo de insripción
Susan Polgar y la Universidad Webster están organizando la edición 2012 del Abierto SPICE Cup. Este se llevará a cabo entre el 16 y el 20 de octubre y, por primera vez, el costo de inscripción será gratuito.
El Abierto SPICE Cup se llevará a cabo junto al Torneo Invitacional SPICE Cup que se espera alcance la categoría 17-18. Tendrá un fondo de premios garantizado de $10.000 ($4.000 para el ganador) y será válido para normas de MI/GM/WIM/WGM. El torneo será un suizo a 9 rondas con un control de tiempo de 90 minutos para la partida con 30 segundos de incremento desde la primera jugada.
