      The 28th Victor Ciocâltea Memorial will take place from 25th March to 4th April at Hotel Olimpia in Bucharest, Romania. 12 players, 7 Romanians and five from abroad, will compete in the round robin tournament.

      Ciocâltea was Romanian Champion in 1952, 1959, 1961, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1975, and 1979. He played for Romania in eleven Chess Olympiads from 1956 to 1982.
