      Virginia Scholastic Championship

      scholastic, Virginia

This weekend (March 10-11) is the 2007 Virginia Scholastic Chess Championships. There are well over 500 kids currently registered for the event and many accomplished scholastic players participating — including Abby Marshall & Ettie Nikolova who have played in the Polgar national girl’s tournament in the recent past.

This year, for the first time, we are also providing scholarships for the top finishing high school male and female students to help offset costs associated with the Denker & Polgar events.

Please visit my blog at http://www.c-ease.com/chess . I’ll be in Richmond with my Kent Gardens Elementary and Longfellow Middle School boys and I’ll be posting a play-by-play, results and pairings as soon as I can get them, pictures, and more.
