      Webster U GM Illia Nyzhnyk Wins US National G/60 Championship

      Last night, Webster University GM Illia Nyzhnyk won the US National g/30 Championship with 4.5/5! He also won the Blitz Championship with a perfect 7/7!

      Tonight he beat GM Ioan Chirila with black in the final round to win the US National g/60 Championship with perfect 4-0 score!

      In the past 4 years, SPICE students at Webster University have won 2 World Championships, Olympiad Gold, 4 World Open Titles & 40 National Titles! This is more than ALL other College Chess Programs combine!!

      2 members of Webster University – SPICE program,  GMs Ray Robson (current student) and Wesley So (former student), were part of the historic US team which captured Olympiad Gold for the first time (with full competition in a non-boycotted year) since 1937!
