        1.Nxd6+ Qxd6
        2.Qf5+ …
        followed by 3.Nf5 winning a piece ?

        Sorry – I meant 3.Ne4 winning a piece.

        Hi Susan!
        I think the best is:

        1. Nf5 Nxf5
        2. Nd6+
Black has to choose to save its queen or knight… obviously it will save the queen

        2. … Qf8
        3. Qxf5+
Knights exchange and black looses its bishop…

        Also it is Interesting:

        1. Nxg5 Qf8
Winning a pawn and the black queen retreats, weakening the defense

        2. Nf5
Black knight can´t try to retreat

The second fits more my style

        Cheers!!
        I love you Polgar´s!

Eduardo, you are left with a knight less with respect to the line proposed by Harry

3.Qxf5… and black looses bishop and position
Or I’m not seeing it well?

        3. Qxf5 Kb8
how does Black lose the bishop? If
        4. Qxf6 Black simply play Qxf6

Nope, black queen is now on f8 (2. … Qf8), there is a black pawn in between.

But I did very wrong, black is on check, so would take the knight.
        Sorry 🙁

I think Harry is right. (And I am afraid this is a repeat. This appeared here before.)

I didn’t understand Eduardo. After 1. Nf5 Nxf5 2. Nd6+, BK is under check, so BQ can’t move to f8, but after 2…Qxd6, White is lost.

        Also, after 1. Nxg5 Qd7, how will White continue? Also, after 1. Nxg5 Qf8 2. Nf5 Bxg5, how will White continue?

        Am I terribly missing something?

        I´m sorry Anonymous… I was terribly wrong. Next time I’ll use a chessboard. 😛

        Let’s see other’s solutions

        Cheers

        Harry:
        3 Ne4 Rh6
        seems to save the bishop.
        How about:
        1 Nxd6 Qxd6
        2 Rd1 ..
        3 Qf5+

        Anonymous,

3…Rh6 will save the Bishop, but the Queen will be lost by 4. Nxd6!
