Even if you don’t like his politics, you’ve got to admit Obama is a charismatic speaker.

And anyone who thinks Obama’s a socialist or a communist is an idiot and needs to research what those words mean.

He’s no JFK, but not bad.
No doubt he could play chess at the expert level.

I think Obama’s biggest liability is his belief in himself. He needs to hire a speech writer and stop pretending he is Abraham Lincoln (who, along with John Adams by the way, suspended a lot more civil liberties than GWB.)

Some of the stuff he said was just rank amateurism, eg:

1] A nation can’t prosper when it favors only the prosperous? So lets knock down anyone who becomes prosperous by not favoring the prosperous in the future to ensure more prosperity?

2] Wield technology’s wonders to raise health care’s quality and reduce its cost. Doesn’t technology usually lead to an increase in costs? Unless he means to use it to restrict people’s access?

3]We will roll back the specter of global warming? Isn’t a specter an apparition or figment? Better to be ignored in that case, not rolled back.

Lets hope there is more under the hood than we saw today – otherwise we are in dire trouble.

Actually, he did write most of it. I’ll give it an 8, considering he has to address the entire world and not just the U.S. I liked that he acknowledged global warming, alternative power technologies, and rich countries no longer being able to consume most of the world’s resources. I expect big changes, since he repudiated much of the Bush era. Here’s hoping he’s around for 8 years.

The apprentice President. Don’t forget his lack of qualifications for this most important job. It won’t be long before it’s apparent to most that he talks a lot but can’t seem to make things happen or find success for the country.

        C.
I am not sure where the “Muslim World” is. It is awful to refer to anything as a separate “world” in a time when we are trying to pull together. Imagine if he referred to other areas as the “Poor World” or “Chinese World”. That was very offensive.

You liberal pukes are something else! He is president of these 50 states, not of the world. The United States should stop acting like police/nurse/doctor for the world. The damn world should take care of itself just as the USA needs to take care of itself and quit meddling in world politics.

That would be great. It would be terrific if we stopped spending money on other people’s problems and just here in the US.

I just heard that he wants to lift the ban on government funding of abortions outside of the US. Regardless of how you feel about abortion, why would we ever spend money on that outside of the US anyway??

It was a nice speech. But I am sick of speeches. I want to see what he can do against a totally broken government and economy.
The I’ll give him a grade.
