A match between Nakamura and Carlsen for $10 million, winner takes all. I expect Nakamura to own Carlsen in a match.

I’m much more oriented to women tournaments, so I’ll invite:
Hou, A. Muzychuk, Lagno, T. Kosintseva, Gunina, Ushenina, Krush, Pogonina, Zatonskih, Zhukova

However, in a men tournament, these players will be on my list:
Kramnik, Grischuk, Nakamura, Caruana, Karjakin, Svidler, Morozevich, Ivanchuk, Kamsky, J. Polgar

I would invite Korobov, Jobava, Rapport, Vachier-Lagrave, Mamedyarov, Topalov, Nakamura, Grischuk, Morozevich, and Aronian, because all of them play attractive fighting chess while keeping the quality of the games high. Some players are not in the “elite” but are good enough to fight on equal terms, which makes the winner harder to predict.

I’d invite people the age of 25 and under but over the 2700 rating.. Of course reserving space for current world champ. Think we need to see the young battle amongst themselves

The Young generation of Magnus Carlsen, Sergey Karjakin, Anish Giri, Wesley So and Hou YiFan battling it out against their matured counterparts composed of Vladimir Kramnik, Levon Aronian, Viswanathan Anand, Veselin Topalov and Judit Polgar. An exciting and the most ambitious combination of the past and new generations 🙂

In my opinion for a ordinary person to organize a tournament, with the participation of the best players in the world, is a one in a life time opportunity. So with that in mind, I would like to organize a tournament, that from which both the players and the public at large can draw some positive conclusions. In other words a good experiment.

Most of the impartial opinions say that Magnus Carlsen is the best player in the world(not in history, at least not yet), not only cause of his raiting, chess records, winning top tournaments streak or number of deciding games, but olso because of his incredible mental abilities and his outstanding will to win. Fighting for the World Title at only 22 is another reason why he is the best at the moment.

So i will make a tournament that will test his limits(why his limits? I explained above).

So logicly i will choose the toughest opponents for him. So unfortunately no Aronian, no Anand and no Nakamura(which are great players on their own but Magnus has a good record against them. For example Aronian didn’t beat Magnus since 2009.).

        So my choices are:

        1.Vladimir Kramnik (no further comments)
2.Alexander Morozevich(brilliant player, very combinativ, which likes complications and who can match Magnus in a double edged posision.)
3.Peter Leko(very solid player, remember the game between him and Carlsen in Tata Steel.)
4.Anish Giri(For whatever reason, Magnus seems to have a lot of problems facing Anish. Mayne he has problems playing younger players, I don’t know(again look at the game played in Wijk aan Zee).)
5.Wang Hao(Again Tata Steel(Magnus escaped) and the game played in Norway where Hao won.)
        6.Vasily Ivanchuk(Candidates Tournament 20013).
7.Dmitry Andreikin(Again young player, aggressive who can cause problems).

        And last but not least:
8.Ian Nepomniachtchi(He has been one of Carlsen’s seconds for some years and he knows Magnus better than any professional chess player. He certainly has the aggression and is good enough to hurt Carlsen. Maybe he can show us some chinks in Carlsen’s armor.)

I’ve chosen 9 players the 10th in my opinion, just to make the tournament more interesting, is non other than Houdini! I think it will be nice that in the rest day the players can relax playing the Computers World Champion.

I will prefer the system with 3p for a win, 1p for a draw and 0 for lost(and triple in the games against Houdini: 9p for a win 3p for a draw and 0 for lost).

I think it will be a hell of a tournament!!! And it will cost more likely a fortune.

How many points do you think Magnus will make in sush a tournament?

        1) Morozevich (Exciting, attacking chess)
        2) Nepomniachtchi (Takes after Morozevich, another exciting player)
        3) Leko (classical, slow, methodical chess to contrast the first two)
        4) Kramnik (Another contrasting player, but also an amazing one, always a pleasure to see Kramnik’s games for me)
        5) Adams (Karpovian masterpieces. Interesting to see him go up against some of the other more wild players)
        6) Ivanchuk (Never know what to expect from chucky, it’s sure to be an interesting tourney with him around)
        7) Le Quang Liem (Brilliant player of ICC bullet fame. Seems to be improving a lot lately. I’m still exciting to see what he can do against these other big name guys)
        8) Giri (This kid is getting stronger by the day.)
        9) So (Another youngster on his way up)
        10) Caruana (Beautiful, picturesque chess while being super strong at the same time. It would be an interesting tourney to see what he could do against these guys)

I will invite the ten youngest grandmasters on the list to participate in a tournament. It will be exciting to watch the likes of Carlsen, Giri, So, Liem etc. battle each other and see who will win the tournament.

        Could make it:

        A) 10 top young players, as others have suggested,

        B) 10 players whose rating has gone up the most in the last year.

        C) 1 top player from each of 10 countries,

        D) 10 top players with lowest draw percentage, or

        E) 10 top speed chess players

I would pick the following, organized by rating.
        1. Carlsen
        2. Kramnik
        3. Aronian
        4. Nakamura
        5. Caruana
        6. Anand
        7. Topalov
        8. J. Polgar
        9. Hou
        10. Koneru

It would be an exciting tournament full of talent and creativity. I included a number of aggressive players. I also think it’s important to have more than one token woman in the field. More women need to be integrated into top-level chess both for their own advancement and for exposure to chess fans.
