Here are some of the websites which offer video footage from the World Championship:
www.ChessVibes.com
www.Europe-Echecs.com
www.ChessClub.com
It is a very time consuming task. They deserve a lot of credits for bringing us so many fantastic videos from Bonn.
Chess Daily News from Susan Polgar
Kramnik is the sportsman of the year.
Susan, I have a suggestion to the people who put these videos together…I do live sound work for our church, and here is what I notice:
The audio for the press conference videos could be much better. Presently there is a lot of echo in the room, and it is difficult to understand what the players are saying.
The solution is to get a direct feed from the mixer board of the sound system used at the venue, either with a cable, or with a wireless transmitter.
In our church, when the camera man wants a live feed but knows that he will move around, he gives us a transmitter, which we connect to one of the outputs of our mixer. He has a receiver that gets the signal to his camera, so he is getting a good audio feed without cables.
Could you please pass it along to those people?
It might improve the quality of the videos, since a big part of it is spoken word at the press conferences…
with gratitude, Kamalakanta
