      World Youth U-16 Chess Olympiad

      Hungary, World Youth Chess Olympiad


      The Hungarian Chess Federation (HCF) will organize the World Youth U-16 Chess Olympiad for teams in Győr (Hungary) from 12th December (arrival) to 22nd December (departure). The U-16 Youth Olympiad will be conducted under the auspices of FIDE.

      The tournament venue is located in the University of Győr (Nyugat- Magyarorszagi Egyetem), Liszt Ferenc út 42.

      Players who shall not have reached the age of 16, by January 1st 2014, (Date of Birth 1998 and after) are entitled to participate.

      The tournament shall be run on a 10 Round Swiss System. Each match between teams will be conducted over 4 boards. 90 minutes to finish with 30 seconds increment from the first move. Concerning delays, the zero tolerance FIDE rule is applied.

      Each FIDE member federation has the right to send one team having free board and lodging from 12th to 22nd December 2014.

      Each team shall comprise 4 players and 1 reserve (one of whom must be a girl) and 1 captain (or Manager, Trainer).

      They have to pay only the 100 EUR/person registration (organizing) fee and 100 EUR/team FIDE entry fee.

      FIDE member federations have the right to send additional (extra) teams to U16 Olympiad fully on their own costs.

      The deadline for entry is 15th November 2014. The organizers may accept late entries only in exceptional cases with 100 EUR/team extra fee to be paid.

      Cities where participants can transfer from to Győr:
      Budapest, (Liszt Ferenc, Ferihegy Airport), Vienna (Schwechat Airport), Bratislava (M. R. Štefánik Airport)
      The Hungarian Chess Federation will arrange free transfer between the airport and the hotels on the arrival and departure days.
      Győr is easily accessible by train also.
