      11th Khazar International Chess Open

      Chess tournament, Iran

      Chess Association of “Gilan” province on behalf of I.R.Iran Chess Federation has the honor to invite all players from national federations to participate in the 11th Khazar International Chess Open Tournaments which will be held in Rasht, Iran, from March 01-08,2013.

      The Khazar Open will consist of three sections: Group A (titled players and rated over 2100), Group B (U2100 players), Group C (U14 Boys & Girls).

      The playing format is 11-round Swiss with the time control 90 Min +30 Sec/Move. The tournament venue is Yadegar Imam Sport Complex located in Golsar st., Rasht.

      The accommodation will be in Olympic Hostel & Emkan Tourist Complex. Hotel & food will be free for IM & GMs. Foreign invited Grandmasters will receive 400 US$ as pocket money.

      Top prizes in various sections are 2440 US$ (Group A), 1220 US$ (Group B) and 650 US$ (for each of U14, U12 and U10 winners in Group C). Tax for cash prizes is 10%.

      Deadline for registration is 24 February 2013. Official Website: www.prochess.ir. Last year winner was then 17-years old IM Pouya Idani.
