      11th Open International D’Echecs de La Fere Concluded

      The 11th Open International D’Echecs de La Fere took place on 7-14th July at the Drouot space, 18 rue des Bigors, 02800 La Fere, France.

      The 9-round Swiss open was played according to FIDE rules and draw offers were not allowed before the 25th move. 144 players competed

      The Open La Fere is recognized by the French Chess Federation as one of the best 8 tournaments in France. Organizers are Quentin DECOTTE and Olivier THOMAS, chief arbiter is IA Emmanuel VARINIAC.

      The prize fund of 6500 EUR was distributed as 1st: 1100 €, 2nd: 750 €, 3rd: 550 €, 4th: 350 €, 5th: 250 €, 6th: 200 €, 7th: 100 €, 8th: 100 €.

      In addition, there were special money prizes for the top women, veteran and elo categories.

      Final standings:

      1. GM DEGRAEVE Jean-Marc 2580 FRA – 7,5

      2-6. GM GEORGIEV Vladimir 2562 MKD, IM JEREZ PEREZ Alfonso 2407 ESP, FM GODART Francois 2317 BEL, GM RUSEV Krasimir 2540 BUL and IM ARNAUDOV G. Petar 2486 BUL – 7.0

      7-10. FERYN Alexandre 2114 FRA, FM FORTHOFER Robert 2259 FRA, BARDOUX Thierry 2157 FRA – 6,5

      11. WFM LLANEZA VEGA Patricia 2225 ESP, FM MANCINI Mario 2282 FRA, BARBAUT Michel 2032 FRA, FERYN Benjamin 2112 FRA, DUMAS Victor 2064 FRA, WAQUET Frederic 1966 FRA, GOMES Alexis 1607 FRA, VAN POUCKE Anthony 1611 FRA, URBANIAK Patrick 1918 FRA and BINIAUX Michael 1724 FRA – 6.0 etc
